Oil-free compressed air for shockwave therapy using ESWT devices
Success in orthopaedics with oil-free compressed air
In orthopaedics, extracorporeal shock wave therapy, also known as ESWT, has been used successfully for many years – for example, to treat chronic inflammation. One form of ESWT is radial shock wave therapy, also known as RSWT.

In RSWT, radial shock waves are generated mechanically using compressed air. To achieve this, a projectile is accelerated rapidly by compressed air and subsequently strikes an applicator resting on the skin. The impact energy, in the form of a pressure wave, is transmitted to the body via a coupling medium, such as gel. An oil-free compressor is used to generate the mechanical pressure wave.

Advantages of the oil-free compressor inpneumatic shockwave therapy
As it uses compressed air, this method is also known as pneumatic shockwave therapy.
Our oil-free compressor is built into the shockwave device as its central component. The KK15 compressed air compressor offers you an environmentally friendly and, above all, quiet solution for your shockwave device.
- Thanks to oil-free compressor technology and an intake filter with a pore size of 2 µm, the compressors deliver high-quality air.
- As the shockwave device is located in the treatment room, it is important that the compressor operates quietly.
- Dürr Technik compressors are also characterised by their durability and robustness.
- All compressor units are maintenance-free.
Since 1981, Dürr Technik has been the specialist in oil-free compressors for hospitals and medical practices
We supply manufacturers of ESWT devices with optimal compressor units for low-noise, oil-free compressed air generation. Thanks to our many years of experience, we are able to provide you with expert advice right from the start and ensure your continued satisfaction even after your purchase.
