Filter maintenance

Replacement filters for your compressor

Treat your Dürr Technik compressor to a new filter

Consistently high air quality is of the utmost importance in many industrial and medical industries.

Once serviced with a suitable replacement filter, your compressor will once again deliver the same performance as a brand-new unit. What’s more, changing your compressor’s filter annually offers multiple benefits: an annual filter change reduces running costs, extends the service life and ensures accurate measurement results.

Changing the filter – quick and easy

Once serviced with a suitable replacement filter, your compressor will perform just as well as a brand-new unit. The filter should therefore be changed annually.

Watch the video to see how quick and easy it is to change the filter.

Good reasons to change your filter every year:

Lower operating costs

By removing dirt particles from the incoming air using filters, energy consumption is reduced, thereby also lowering operating costs.

Longer service life

Changing the filter regularly protects against wear and damage to components, thereby extending the service life of your compressor.

Optimal air quality

By replacing the filters annually, your compressor delivers consistently high air quality. Using a range of filters, you can also specifically improve the purity and dryness of the compressed air to meet your requirements.

Reliable performance

Regular servicing using genuine spare parts and filters ensures that your compressor continues to perform at its best.

Improved efficiency

Achieve optimum energy efficiency by regularly replacing dirty filters and wear parts.

Preventing breakdowns

Regular filter replacement protects against wear and damage to components, thereby minimising the risk of machine breakdowns.

Remove dirt particles, prevent damage

Removing dirt particles from the incoming air reduces energy consumption and thus also lowers operating costs. Replacing the filter regularly also protects components from damage, thereby ensuring a longer service life for the compressor. Machine breakdowns can also be prevented by replacing the filter regularly.

Ensuring compressed air quality

The quality of compressed air can be specifically improved using various filters. The annual replacement of filters in medical devices is a prerequisite for maintaining medical approval and must be documented, as it ensures, amongst other things, valid measurement results and patient safety. In the drinks industry, too, the purity and dryness of the air play a major role.

The importance of filter replacement for various industries:

Laboratory

Medical sector

Complying with the obligation to provide evidence

In medical applications, patient safety is the top priority. Consequently, there are also obligations to provide evidence of regular filter replacement.

Minimising risks

There are no statutory limits governing the purity of compressed air used in the food industry. However, there are regulations stipulating that compressed air must be free from contaminants and must not pose any risk.

Questions and Answers

What are the requirements for compressed air used in analytical instruments?
Analytical instruments require oil-free, dry and particle-free compressed air. These requirements usually correspond to the compressed air classes set out in ISO 8573-1, typically Class 1:3:1, in order to prevent measurement errors and contamination.
Why is oil-free compressed air particularly important for rheometers?
Rheometers often use compressed air for air bearings. Oil or moisture can impair the bearing’s function and adversely affect measurement accuracy.
Can a laboratory compressor supply power to several analysers?
Yes, if designed appropriately, a central compressed air station can supply several analysers. Alternatively, decentralised solutions such as the SICOLAB mini are a sensible option for individual units.
What is the difference between SICOLAB and SICOLAB mini?
The SICOLAB is designed for higher flow rates and centralised applications, whilst the SICOLAB mini offers a compact solution for individual workstations and smaller analytical instruments.
Do oil-free compressors require a lot of maintenance?
Oil-free laboratory compressors significantly reduce maintenance requirements, as no oil changes are required and the risk of contamination is minimised.
